Hello, my name is Deji Odusi. I’ll like to tell you about a book
that I have been working on. The book is
a product of over 5 years of research, trials and experience. Initially I
started out trying to find the “Holy Grail” of trading. I didn’t realise there
was no such thing as a “Holy Grail” in the stock market. In my first few
months, I went on a wild goose chase.
I started out by attending a
“free” 2 hour seminar, which ended up being a sales pitch for a £3,000 two- day
course. Rather than give strategies to make money in the stock market, I was
told how the pension funds are about to collapse and how I can make millions by
attending the two-day course. I was
promised a DVD (allegedly worth £149) and wealth report (allegedly worth £55)
just for attending the free 2 hour seminar.
The DVD ended up being a sales media, while the wealth report I was given
was a 2 page leaflet containing no relevant information. Does that sound familiar?
I then started reading books on
the stock market and how to trade. Some
of the books were useful, but a lot contained information which was either not
relevant or which I did not need to know to be successful. I found out about Technical Analysis and how
to study charts to make money in the stock market. I was presented with a lot
of indicators and patterns and it all ended up being information overload.
As I began to trade, I started to
note down what worked for me as trader. I discovered that because I had a full
time job in another profession, I couldn’t just follow the advice of people
that monitor the market throughout the day. I also wanted a system that would not
take away my peace and prevent me from sleeping at night.

Gone are the days where you could buy
shares in a company, keep for 5 years and expect to make a profit. For
instance most share prices are yet to return to their 1998 value, this means
that people that bought shares back then and still own them are holding onto
shares whose value is a lot less than what they paid. The most profitable
holding time is now 2 days to about 6 months.
